Dead People’s Sheets is built from, and performed inside, estate sale bedsheets stitched together into a 20’ tall canopy. Audience members are invited to write a note to their younger selves and clothespin it to the installation. Later those words of wisdom are read aloud by kids in a surprise performance. Dead People’s Sheets is the first installment in the Once in a Lifetime series, exploring what we want people to think about us after we die, and how the answer to that question changes as we age.
Dead People’s Sheets premiered in Portland, Oregon at the Risk/Reward Festival in June 2024 with live music performed by Charlie Copeland, Jeffrey Arnsdorf, and some of the coolest kids in town.
